State schools from all across the United Kingdom have shared their 2016 GCSE results with several news outlets in the UK. On the Telegraph’s website they have the results published in you can search them to see whether your school is among those published. You can also compare schools across the UK in terms of their rankings.
In the first table you have a list of 132 state schools while the other table has the results of the 182 comprehensive schools that submitted their data to the Telegraph.
Not all of this year’s results are included in the list due to some incomplete data. You can also expect a list with the U.K.’s independent schools at a later time.
There had been some startling revelations with the figures that have been published yesterday. For instance, the number of pupils who achieved a C grade or better in 2016 saw the biggest decline since the GCSE exams had been introduced in 1988.
The percentage of pupils who gained good grades ranging from A* to C dropped by 2.1% and is now sitting at 66.9% a result of many pupils having to rebuild their tests following a new government role that requires at least a C grade for English and maths, otherwise they will have to retake the exam
Yet, the number of those who failed to achieve grades ranging from A* to C dropped as well by 1.3%. Several education experts in UK are blaming the focus on the key academic subjects of the EBacc is a possible cause for the poorer grades.
According to the results published by the Telegraph, Hempstead’s The Henrietta Bernard School came out on top among the selective state schools. Hundred percent of its students achieved five or more of the better grades with 95% of the students getting A* or A.
Shropshire’s Thomas Telford School came out on top among the comprehensive schools with 98% of their students achieving good grades.
The above news from the U.K.’s education sector are brought to you by Kingshottschool, the premium private school in Bedfordshire that is affordable and doesn’t accept any compromises when it comes to the education of your children.
Be assured, summertime will come sooner than you might think and with it the many great music festivals all across the United Kingdom. Rest assured there won’t be a single weekend without at least one festival going on.
With so many music festivals to go to this summer comes the question how to go about getting around so you won’t miss out on anything.
Getting to and back places may not be a major problem. But what about if you want to stay at a festival location for a couple of days, seeing that most larger music festivals in UK are usually lasting for an entire weekend.
It’s obviously not always practicable if you where to book a hotel room or need to look for a bed and breakfast. Prices for lodging at the common festival locations are often outrageous, not to mention the problem of even finding a place.
I found that getting around with a camper van can be the best way to travel in the festival season. Camping will allow you to visit and enjoy many music festivals without needing to worry about where you would need to stay. A camper van is just perfect for those short-term trips.
If you happen to be in a band yourself, nothing comes close to a camper van. It allows you to carry equipment easily from one place to the other. Not anyone has a super-sized transporter, this is where a camper van fits nicely in between.
So, rather than spending a fortune on lodging and going through a lot of stress looking for rooms when everything is overbooked I recommend that you consider a camper van hire. You can see any trusted camper van hire in the UK to learn all about how to get a camper van for the music festival season without the fuss! Who knows, you may like camping that much that you would even want to purchase your very own camper van in no time!
